CHILDREN & INFANTS POLICY

Adults Only Dutch Oven Cooking Classes in Montana

For safety reasons, Dutch Oven Outfitters is an adults-only training experience.
All students and overnight guests must be 18 years of age or older to attend classes or stay on the property.

This rule is in place to protect children, parents, guests, instructors, animals, and the working property itself.

WHY WE CANNOT ALLOW CHILDREN OR INFANTS

This is not a resort-style setting built for kids.

Dutch Oven Outfitters is a hands-on outdoor cooking school held on a real working property in Paradise Valley, Montana. Training includes hot cast iron, open flame cooking, heavy gear, livestock, remote-style conditions, and physically demanding movement. Students must be at least 18 years old and that the program may involve handling hot coals, heavy cast iron, hiking, horse work, high elevations, and rugged backcountry-style conditions.

Because of that, we cannot safely host:

Children

Infants

Toddlers

Minors of any age

SAFETY RISKS ON THE PROPERTY

This policy is based on real safety concerns, not convenience.

On or near the property, there may be:

Hot coals, open flame fire, propane, and hot cast iron

Electric fencing

Open water troughs

Loose livestock

Territorial working stock dogs

Free-range chickens and goats

Moving tractors, trailers, and ranch equipment

Uneven ground and outdoor hazards

Nearby river access

Lodging areas that are not childproof or suitable for infants

This is a working Montana property, not a child-ready environment.

AGE REQUIREMENT

To attend Dutch Oven Outfitters classes, you must:

Be 18 years old or older

Be able to follow directions in a serious training setting

Be physically and mentally prepared for outdoor cooking and camp-style work

Your word doc also states the minimum age is 18 due to lifting heavy cast iron and handling hot coals, and notes the physical demands of the program.

STEP-BY-STEP: WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN

If you are interested in attending a class, here’s the simple path:

Step 1: Arrange childcare before booking
Step 2: Make sure all travel plans are adult-only
Step 3: Confirm you can fully attend without bringing children or infants
Step 4: Reach out with questions before reserving your spot

This helps protect everyone and prevents last-minute problems.

CAN A CHILD JUST STAY IN THE LODGING?

No.

Children and infants cannot stay in the lodging, wait on the property, or be present during class hours.

This includes:

Babies in arms

Toddlers

Teens under 18

Children visiting with parents

Minors staying in guest rooms, trailers, or tents during training

WHY THIS RULE MATTERS

This program is designed for adults who are here to learn in a real-world cooking environment.

That means:

Fire safety matters

Animal safety matters

Equipment safety matters

Full attention matters

Even one distracted moment around hot cast iron, livestock, or moving equipment can turn into a serious problem.

NO EXCEPTIONS

To keep things clear and fair for everyone, this is a strict policy.

No children. No infants. No minors.

No exceptions will be made for age, behavior, supervision, or lodging arrangements.

WHO THIS IS BEST FOR

This training is best for adults who:

Want a focused learning experience

Can safely work around fire and equipment

Understand rural property risks

Are ready for a serious hands-on class

FINAL WORD

This adults-only policy is here for one reason:

Safety.

We want your experience to be unforgettable for the right reasons, not dangerous for the wrong ones.

If you are 18 or older and ready for the real experience, we’d love to have you.
