​I live in beautiful Paradise Valley, Montana—just 38 miles north of Yellowstone National Park—where I spend any of my free time exploring. No matter how often I visit, the park never gets old.

During the warmer months, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, camping, gardening, fly-fishing, floating the river, managing my Bed & Breakfast, and teaching Dutch Oven Cooking Classes.

In the fall for over 30 years, I have worked as a full-time wilderness backcountry camp cook in one of the most remote locations in the lower 48:

The Thorofare, just below the southeast corner of Yellowstone National Park. These primitive camps are located 32 miles off-grid and are accessible only by horseback, where we spend up to 6 weeks at a time completely cut off from civilization.
